The easing of relations between the US and Cuba should continue and the US Congress apparently plans to cancel the economic trade embargo against the island that has been in effect since 1962.
Lifting the embargo will be of great benefit to the Cuban economy, particularly through rush-spending American tourists, but it can be a disaster for other islands in the Caribbean that are heavily dependent on tourism.
